01What we do

From the test to aftercare, clear at every step

We assess your hearing, fit a hearing aid where it is right for you and look after it in the years that follow.

01

Hearing assessment

A registered hearing aid dispenser tests your hearing in a quiet room and explains your audiogram.

02

Hearing aid fitting

Where a hearing aid is right for you, we programme it to your audiogram and your daily life.

03

Ear impressions

If needed we take an ear impression and check at follow ups that the mould sits comfortably.

04

Care and repairs

Cleaning, filters, adjustments and repairs get their own appointments.

02Step by step

Your way to a hearing aid, in six steps

Choose a step to see what happens at that stage and what to bring with you.

We listen first

You or a relative fill in the form or write to us. We ask where hearing feels hard and send you the whole process in writing.

03Who tests your hearing

Registered clinicians, plain facts

In the UK, testing hearing and prescribing a hearing aid for sale is a protected function. What that means for you:

  • Registered professionalsOnly HCPC registered hearing aid dispensers test hearing and prescribe for sale.
  • Check before you comeAsk for your clinician's registration number and look it up on the public HCPC register.
  • Accurate informationWe describe devices factually and make no promises about results.
  • Medical concerns firstIf something needs a doctor, we tell you before any fitting.

Costs depend on the device style, your hearing and the aftercare included. We explain every cost in writing before you decide.

04Device styles

Not a brand, a style that suits your ear

This is information, not promotion. Which style suits you only becomes clear after your hearing test.

Behind the ear

Sits behind the ear; sound travels through an earmould or thin tube. Easy to hold and clean.

Receiver in canal

The body sits behind the ear and a small speaker sits in the ear canal. Its thin wire makes it discreet.

In the ear

Made to the shape of your ear canal and worn inside the ear. Canal shape and dexterity are assessed.

We do not sell hearing aids online and we do not promote models, brands or offers on this site.

05For family and friends

Reading this together? You are in the right place

Deciding on a hearing aid is often a family decision. We plan our appointments with that in mind.

  1. 1Bring a relative or friend; we explain everything to you both.
  2. 2You get a written summary after each appointment.
  3. 3No pressure to decide and no time limited offers.
  4. 4Clinicians are introduced by name and role, so you know who fits your device.

07Questions

Common questions, clear answers

If your question is not here, write to us and we will answer briefly and clearly.

Can I buy a hearing aid on this website?

No. We do not sell hearing aids online. A hearing aid is fitted only after a registered dispenser has tested your hearing, so this site leads to a test request, not a basket.

Who will test my hearing?

An HCPC registered hearing aid dispenser. Only registered dispensers may test hearing and prescribe a hearing aid for sale; you can check their number on the public register.

Why are there no prices on the site?

The cost depends on the device style, your hearing and the aftercare included. We explain all costs in writing after your test, before you decide anything.

Do I need a referral from my GP?

Not for a private hearing test with us. For NHS hearing care, your GP is the place to start.

I find phone calls hard. How can I reach you?

Use the form, email or WhatsApp. Choose in the form how we should reply and we will use only that route.
