Pick a collection day and we fetch your rugs from your door. Each one is washed for its type, dried in a drying room rather than the sun, wrapped and returned on the day we told you.

01 · What we wash
Four separate routes for the textiles in your home.
Rugs are washed at the atelier, sofas in your home. Each has its own team, machines and timing.
02In your home
Upholstery cleaning
On site, with a shampoo suited to the fabric and an extraction machine. The team is planned by number of seats; drying takes a few hours.
03At the atelier
Curtain cleaning
Sheers and drapes are collected panel by panel, washed at a low temperature for the fabric and returned pressed and on hangers.
04At the atelier
Kilims and runners
Flat woven kilims are washed by hand and the fringes cleaned separately. Long runners travel rolled, never folded.
02 · How we work
We inspect the rug together at the door. Everything else, we say plainly.
Most disputes on return come from expectations nobody wrote down. So we keep four rules.
Collection notes and photos
Fringes, edges, stains and wear are written on the collection slip and photographed. On return, we check the rug together against the same notes.
Dye test first
On hand knotted and naturally dyed rugs we test water and shampoo on a corner. If we see a risk of dyes running, we call you before washing.
A drying room, not the sun
Rugs dry right through to the backing with controlled warm air and dehumidifiers. Damp weather does not change the method, only the time.
Straight talk about stains
Not every stain comes out. Old and set stains are noted on collection, and we tell you what to expect from the start.
03 · Book collection
Choose what we collect, and the slip writes itself.
The slip fills in as you choose. It shows no amount: rugs are measured at the atelier and you get the figure in writing.

- We confirm the time window by message the same day.
- The team inspects the rug with you at the door and leaves a copy of the slip.
- Measurements and the amount arrive in writing; washing starts once you agree.
04 · Rug types
Before you hand over a valuable rug, read how it will be washed.
Every fibre reacts differently to water, heat and brushes. We choose the method by looking at the rug.
Lukewarm water, neutral shampoo and patience. A hand knotted rug never goes into a machine.
- Method
- By hand, in lukewarm water with a pH neutral shampoo. No rotary brushes; fringes are washed separately.
- What we check first
- Dye test on a corner, knots and foundation, earlier repairs.
- When we decline
- If the foundation is rotting, we talk to you before washing and may decline the rug.
- Drying
- Slowly in the drying room, flat and out of direct light.
Little moisture, cold water and hands. Lustrous fibres get their own line.
- Method
- Cold water and minimal moisture, by hand with a sponge. Silk and viscose are washed on a separate line.
- What we check first
- A fibre test tells silk from viscose. Viscose can stiffen when wet, and we tell you so up front.
- When we decline
- If a silk rug has been dyed or retouched before and the dye risk is high, we do not wash it.
- Drying
- Quickly with moving air, brushed so the pile lies right.
Brush machine, plenty of rinsing, spin dry. Shaggy rugs on their own programme.
- Method
- Brush washed by machine, rinsed thoroughly and spun. Shaggy rugs run on a separate programme.
- What we check first
- Latex backing, edge binding and a hardened back.
- When we decline
- Washing a rug whose backing has broken down can make it worse; we send you photos first.
- Drying
- Hung in the drying room until the backing is fully dry.

06 · Questions
What people ask before handing over a rug
01When will my rug come back?
5 to 7 working days in normal weeks, 8 to 12 before holidays and in wet weeks. If it takes longer, we message you before the return date.
02Why does the form not show an amount?
The amount depends on the rug type and its measured area. Rugs are measured at the atelier, you get the figure in writing and we only start washing once you agree.
03Will every stain come out?
No. Old stains, stains set by heat and dye stains can be permanent. We note them on collection and tell you what to expect from the start.
04What about my right to cancel if I book next day collection?
A service agreed online comes with a 14 day cancellation period. If you tick the box asking us to start within that period, the right to cancel no longer applies to a rug we have started washing.
05How does upholstery cleaning work?
Sofas are cleaned in your home with a shampoo suited to the fabric and an extraction machine. The team comes according to the number of seats; the sofa dries in a few hours and we suggest not sitting on it until then.
