A fine needle,
a long conversation.

Durgu is a small, quiet treatment room where only a certified physician gives acupuncture, in a Ministry authorised unit. Your first appointment is always a conversation.

Acupuncture does not replace medical treatment; it sits alongside it.

01 · Approach

You will not find a list of conditions here.

Many acupuncture sites open with a list of conditions. We start with who looks after you and how each technique works.

Alongside, not instead

Acupuncture does not replace the treatment your doctor recommends. We never ask you to stop medication; sessions are planned alongside it.

Suitability is a conversation

We list no conditions. Where the ASA accepts evidence, it is for short-term relief, for example of chronic low back pain or tension-type headache. Suitability is decided at consultation.

Certified physician, authorised unit

In Turkey only certified physicians and dentists may practise acupuncture, in a Ministry authorised unit. Durgu works within that framework.

02 · Techniques

Four techniques, each explained on its own.

Acupuncture is not one procedure. These are the four techniques used at Durgu; nothing else is offered.

Needle acupuncture

What it is
Very fine, sterile, single-use needles placed at chosen points.
How it runs
You rest comfortably once the needles are in; the practitioner tells you for how long.
What it may feel like
Often a brief prick or a dull heaviness. Say so the moment anything feels uncomfortable.

Laser acupuncture

What it is
Points are stimulated with low-level laser light instead of needles.
How it runs
You wear protective glasses while the device is held briefly over each point.
What it may feel like
Usually nothing, or a faint warmth. An option if needles worry you.

Electroacupuncture

What it is
A small device connected to the needles gives a gentle electrical stimulus.
How it runs
It starts at the lowest level and is adjusted with you; not used for some people, such as those with a pacemaker.
What it may feel like
A light tingling or rhythmic tapping, turned down at any moment.

Ear acupuncture

What it is
Fine needles, or small plant seeds on tape, on points of the outer ear.
How it runs
Seed tapes may stay on for a few days, with written guidance on removal.
What it may feel like
Slight tenderness when pressed; you can remove the tape yourself.

Which technique is used is agreed with the practitioner after the consultation.

Dr Nehir IlgazAcademic titles appear only where documents support them.

You will not see the title acupuncture specialist here. A certificate is training, not a specialty.

03 · Practitioner

Profession first, acupuncture second. On separate lines.

The profile comes in layers: profession and specialty from the medical diploma, the acupuncture certificate on its own line, then the authorised unit.

04 · A session

From the door to the way out, this is a session.

People rarely fear acupuncture itself, only the unknown. So every step is written down in advance.

  1. 01

    Short enquiry

Name, phone and a short note. We call back to agree a time.

  2. 02

    Consultation

Your history, medication and any reports. Suitability is decided here.

  3. 03

    Information and consent

Technique, possible side effects and alternatives, in writing. Read, ask, then sign if you wish.

  4. 04

    Treatment

A warm, quiet room. Each step is explained; you can stop at any time.

  5. 05

    Afterwards

A short rest, written notes and the next step. No number of sessions is promised.

05 · Information and consent

You sign only once your questions are answered.

Before any treatment an information form is prepared and your consent recorded: part of the conversation, not paperwork.

The form is read with the practitioner at the unit, not online. You may bring someone and take time before signing.

06 · Consultation request

Pick a day and a time window, and we will call you.

This is a request, not a booking; the time is confirmed when we call.

07 · Questions

Five things first time visitors ask.

Anything clinical is kept for the consultation.

Will acupuncture replace my medication or treatment?

No. Acupuncture is complementary and does not replace care recommended by your doctor.

I am nervous about needles. What can I do?

Tell us at the consultation. The practitioner may start with only a few needles or consider laser instead, and you can stop at any time.

Which conditions do you treat?

We publish no list of conditions and promise no outcomes. Whether acupuncture is suitable for you is decided by the physician at consultation.

How many sessions will I need?

We do not promise a number. The practitioner suggests a plan, and you review it together after each session.

What should I bring to the first visit?

ID, a list of your medication and any recent reports. Loose, comfortable clothing helps.
